Course Registration — Step by Step

Based on the official Admission & Registration Deanship guide.

Before you start: Make sure your study plan in Degree Works is Active & Locked by your academic advisor. Without this, courses will not appear in the registration system.

1 · Prepare for Registration

eServices (SSB) → Student → Student Registration
  1. Open the UAEU portal my.uaeu.ac.ae and click eServices (SSB).
  2. Click StudentStudent RegistrationPrepare for Registration.
  3. Check the Registration Status page: your student status, academic standing, holds, and earned hours. All notifications must be green. A red notification (e.g. a hold) must be cleared before you can register — contact the department that issued the hold.

2 · Register for Classes

eServices → Student → Student Registration → Register for Classes
  1. Click Register for Classes, select the term (Fall = 1st semester, Spring = 2nd, Summer = summer), and press Continue.
  2. Select the Plans tab, navigate to the course you want, then click View Sections. (CRN numbers are no longer entered manually — always register from your Plan.)
  3. Choose the desired section and press Add. The system will not allow time conflicts or closed (FULL) sections — these show in red.
  4. The course appears in the Summary panel with status Pending — you are not registered yet.
  5. Press Submit. The status changes to Registered and the course shows as a colored block in your schedule with the message "Save Successful". If unsuccessful, an error message appears instead — see the Errors Guide tab.
Linked courses (Lecture + Lab/Tutorial): you must add all required sections at the same time before pressing Submit, otherwise you get a "Linked course required" error.

3 · Dropping a Course

Register for Classes → Summary panel
  1. In the Summary panel, open the drop-down in the Action column next to the course.
  2. Select Drop-Web.
  3. Press Submit to complete.

4 · View Your Schedule

eServices → Student Registration → View Registration Information
  1. Click View Registration Information to see your current and past schedules.
  2. Schedule Details show days, times, locations, start/end dates, and the time & location of the final exam.

Time Conflict With
You tried to register in two courses scheduled at the same time, or with the same final exam time. The conflicting course CRN is displayed.

Fix: Contact the college offering the course to override the restriction, or select another course.

Common System Errors

"Time tickets prevent registration at this time"
You are not in your correct period of registration. Registration dates are based on your earned hours at the end of the last semester. Also make sure you selected the correct term (Fall = 1st, Spring = 2nd, Summer, Year = MD students).
Fix: Open Prepare for Registration to view your earned hours, and follow the registration schedule program for your assigned day & time.
Courses don't appear in the registration system
Your plan is not ready in Degree Works.
Fix: 1) Make sure your study plan in Degree Works has been approved (Active & Locked) by the academic advisor. 2) Make sure the plan is in the correct semester/term.
"Please search again"
The course code couldn't be found.
Fix: Make sure you insert the correct subject code in Degree Works. If not resolved, contact the Helpdesk: 03-7136111 · Helpdesk@uaeu.ac.ae
"You are not able to register because of too many attempts"
You exceeded the allowed limit of registration attempts for the day.
Fix: Contact the Helpdesk at 03-7136111 or Helpdesk@uaeu.ac.ae.
"An error has occurred during the processing of your registration. Please try to submit again"
A browser/session issue.
Fix: Clear the browser cookies, close all open windows, restart the browser and try again. If the problem persists, contact the college.
"Student Status prevents registration"
Your student record is not active for the registration term.
Fix: Contact your college registrar in the registration department to activate your registration status.
"CRN is not valid for Projections in term"
CRN numbers are not accepted manually anymore.
Fix: Select the Plans tab and follow the steps in the Registration tab of this guide to register from your plan.
"You have a hold preventing registration"
You have a registration hold; you may not register until it is removed by the relevant department.
Fix: Open Prepare for Registration to see the hold type and Academic Standing. Contact the department that issued the hold (for probation holds, see the FAQ tab). Registration staff can also assist — see Contacts tab.
